When you’re first setting up your Workful account, we’ll ask for some of your federal tax info. We’ll use these details to calculate your tax liability and fill out your payroll tax forms.
Federal employer identification number
You can find your employer identification number (EIN) on Notice CP-575 issued by the IRS. If you filed for your EIN online, you might have downloaded the notice after successfully submitting your application. If you can’t find Notice CP-575, you can call the IRS at 800-829-4933.
If you haven’t applied for an EIN yet, you can do so online.
Federal tax deposit schedule
We’ll also need to know how often you deposit your federal payroll taxes – federal income tax withheld, employer and employee portions of Social Security tax, and employer and employee portions of Medicare tax. Your tax liability determines your tax deposit schedule.

Company’s legal name
Your company’s legal name is the name you used when you applied for your EIN. If you’re not sure what name you applied with, you’ll find it on Notice CP-575.
Your company’s legal name will depend on your company’s entity type:
- Sole proprietorship – your full legal name (first name, middle initial, and last name) as it appears on your Social Security card
- Partnership – the partnership’s legal name as it appears on the partnership agreement
- Corporation – the corporation’s legal name as it appears on the corporate charter or other legal document
Company’s trade name (optional)
If your company is known as anything other than its legal name, tell us your trade name or doing business as (DBA), as registered with your Secretary of State.
Company’s address
We’ll need to know your company’s business address, as listed on Notice CP-575. This is usually not a P.O. box number. It can be a P.O. box number only if the United States Postal Services (USPS) does not deliver to your street address.
