In Workful, your calendar gives you a glimpse into what’s going on in your company. It shows you
- federal & company holidays
- when to run direct deposit
- team members’ birthdays
- team members’ anniversaries
- when your staff is out of the office
Once your team members have created their employee portals, they’ll also be able to see your company’s calendar. They can see
- federal holidays
- company holidays
- coworkers’ anniversaries
- coworkers’ birthdays
- when anyone is out of the office
How do I view my calendar?
To see an overview of your calendar, click the calendar icon calendar_today in the upper, right-hand side of your admin portal.
You can also view your entire calendar by clicking “CALENDAR” from your main menu.
You can view your calendar by month.
You can also view it by week.
Or, you can view it by day.
How can my team members view the calendar?
To see an overview of the company calendar, your team members can click the calendar icon calendar_today in the upper, right-hand side of their employee portal.
They can also click “CALENDAR” on their main menu.
They can view the calendar by month.
Your team members can also view it by week.
Or, they can view it by day.
Federal & company holidays
We will include the following federal holidays:
- New Year’s Day
- Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
- President’s Day
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Columbus Day
- Veterans Day
If you would like to add a company holiday to your calendar, click “SETTINGS” from your main menu.
Then, click “VIEW PTO POLICIES.”
Click “SET HOLIDAYS.”
Under “Create Holiday,” enter the holiday’s name.
Select a date.
If you are closed for the holiday, check the box beside “Observed.”
If you are paying your team members for the holiday, check the box beside “Paid.” (Please note, checking this box will automatically check the box beside “Observed.”)
Click the calendar icon calendar_today.
Check that the holiday was added to your calendar.
We’ll show you each payday on your calendar, so you won’t have to worry about missing one.
If you need to change your paydays, you can update your pay schedule information. Click “SETTINGS” from your main menu.
Click “PAYROLL SETTINGS.”
Under “Pay Schedule Settings,” click “EDIT.”

To ensure your team is paid on time, you will need to initiate direct deposit at least four (4) business days before payday. We’ll help you remember by marking when to run direct deposit on your calendar.

Celebrate your team members’ birthdays! We mark them on your calendar, so your entire staff remembers to wish their coworker a happy birthday.
You can add your team members’ birthday by clicking “PEOPLE” on your main menu.
Then, click on the person’s name.
Click “EDIT” on their profile.
Select their date of birth.
Your team members can also add their own birthdays. Learn how to update your personal info from the employee portal.
We’ll also let you know when it’s a team member’s work anniversary so you can thank them for their hard work.
To set someone’s work anniversary, click “PEOPLE” from the main menu.
Then, click the person’s name.
Click “EDIT” on their profile.
Select the day you hired them.
Out of office
We’ll let you know when anyone on your staff will be out of the office. That way, you can better schedule your team and make more informed decisions when reviewing time-off requests.
