When you run payroll with Workful, you have the three different options. The type you run will depend on who you’re paying and when. Keep reading to learn more about each type of payroll.
- Contractor pay – Use this option if you’re paying independent contractors. Unlike with employees, you don’t typically withhold taxes from independent contractors’ pay. It’s also likely that they won’t work a regular schedule, so you may not pay them as frequently as you pay your employees. Learn more about how to pay a contractor.
- Payroll – If you’re paying your team their regularly scheduled paychecks, then click “RUN PAYROLL.” With this option, Workful will automatically include everyone on your staff who is paid on your regular pay schedule. Learn more about how to run payroll.
- Off-cycle payroll – Sometimes, you might need to run payroll outside your regular pay schedule. For example, you might need to pay bonuses or severance pay. You may also need to run an off-cycle payroll if there was an error in a team member’s time clock, and you didn’t include all their time worked in a previous check. You will also need to run off-cycle payroll for anyone who is paid on a schedule different than the one you set up for your company. Learn more about why you may need to run off-cycle payroll.
