Set Time Clock
With Workful, your employees can clock in and out from workful.com or from their phones. Setting up your time clock can help you control how they clock in and out.
Start by entering your business’s opening and closing times.
If you only want your employees to be able to clock in or out when they’re connected to your company’s WiFi network, check the box next to “CONSTRAIN WIFI NETWORK”.
Then, enter the WiFi network name.
If you would rather limit your employees’ time clocks to a certain location, you can do that through geolocation. Click here to learn how to set up geolocations in Workful.
If you would like Workful to use your employees’ time clocks to determine how many hours they worked each time you run payroll, then check the box beside “AUTO PULL PAYROLL”.
With Workful, your employees can also record their breaks through the time clock. If you would like those breaks to be paid, check the box next to “PAID BREAKS”.
When you’re done, click “SAVE”.
Then, click “NEXT”.
Set Pay Schedule
Now, let’s set up your pay schedule. By setting your pay schedule, Workful will be able to calculate your employees’ tax withholdings and put your pay days in your calendar.
Start by selecting how often you pay your employees:
- annual (once per year),
- bi-weekly (every 2 weeks),
- daily (once per day),
- monthly (once per month),
- quarterly (once per quarter),
- semi-annual (twice per year),
- semi-monthly (twice per month), or
- weekly (once per week).
Then, enter the number of your next check.
If you will be printing checks, you will need paper check stock. If you don’t have check stock, click here.
Then, enter your first pay day, which is the date on your employees’ first paycheck.
For example, my employee will begin clock in through Workful on the first day of their pay period: Sunday, May 5. The pay period will be from Sunday, May 5 to Saturday, May 18. I will pay them for that time on Friday, May 24. I will enter my first pay day as “05/24/2019”.
Then, enter your first pay period end date, which is the last day your employees work before you pay them for that time.
Using the example above, I will enter my first pay period end date as “05/18/2019”.
Then, click “NEXT”.
