If one of your team members has given you a new state or federal W-4, you can easily update their tax withholding info in Workful. We use your employees’ withholding info to calculate their income tax withholdings.

Switching to the updated federal W-4
The IRS released a new version of the federal W-4 for 2020. If an employee wants to change their withholdings, they’ll need to use the newest version of the form.
To switch from a previous version to the updated version of Form W-4, Click Team Members from the main menu.
Then, select the team member.
Click Edit beside “Federal Taxes.”
Then, click ENTER W-4.
Enter the new W-4 info.
Click SAVE.
Updating an existing federal W-4
If an employee had already submitted a newer version of the W-4 but would like to update their withholdings, click Team Members from the main menu.
Then, select the team member.
Click Edit beside “Federal Taxes.”
Update the worker’s withholding info.
Click SAVE.
Updating state withholding info
If an employee has given you a new copy of their state withholding tax form, click Team Members from the main menu.
Then, select the team member.
Click Edit beside “State Taxes.”
Update the person's withholding info.
Click SAVE.
Adding local tax withholdings
You can add local withholdings to calculate local income or school district taxes. To do so, click Team Members from the main menu.
Then, select the team member.
Click Add Local Taxes.
Enter a description for the tax.
Enter the tax code.
Select whether to withhold the tax as a flat amount or a percentage.
Then, enter how much to withhold.
Click Save.
Updating local tax withholdings
If any of the local tax withholding info changes, click Team Members from the main menu.
Then, select the team member.
Select the local tax.
Update the info as necessary.
Click SAVE.
