Payroll Tax Rates

The Department of Workforce Services will assign your unemployment insurance tax rate, which ranges from 0.1% to 5.0%. New employers generally have an initial rate of 3.2%. There is a fixed Stabilization Tax rate of 0.02% for all employers.

Payroll Tax Deposit Schedules

All unemployment taxes are deposited quarterly.

The Department of Finance & Administration will assign your withholding deposit schedule. For the calendar year, if you accumulated:

• less than $1,000 in withholding, you’ll deposit annually
• $1,000 or more, you’ll deposit monthly
